Please note: Hekla Persians is relocating. We are on the Move! Due to the "Economic Downturn", some of our 2008 kittens did not sell. This is why we are offering them to approved buyers for a contribution to their desexing and vaccinations ONLY.

Our great lady, Athena Rose, has now retired. She is fine after her fall and subsequent loss of her babies. We are richer for all that she has given us, her progeny, her friendship and her love; and are looking forward to having her with us for a long, long time as a part of our family. We are grateful to our terrific vet: Dr Mary Austin, for her sensitive, professional and faultless care of our Hekla Persians, which is why our Athena Rose is with us today.

Newsflash!!!
We have a new Boy on the Block! - Yes, our new stud boy (he is still a kitten at heart, really!), has come to live with us. he is Aliskamvi Just Our Hero - because he is our Hero!
And here he is. He is a Black Persian boy and a bouncing beauty and has the most incredibly loving temperament. We'd like to thank Bill and Lindy Purvis (Aliskamvi Prefix), for this gorgeous and precious boyand we are really happy for the privilege of having him in our breeding program.
Our big lad is very busy, learning about the Birds and the Bees! (or queens and kittens).

We now accept Mastercard and Visa for all deposits and payments from our kitten and cat buyers.
We have a new Breeding Queen coming to live with us. For more information, please visit us later this month. She is of a different and New Colour, so we are very excited!

We are proud to welcome Strathern Destiny, our new Black girl. Born on New Year's Day, this super affectionate girl is a cuddly armful.
Wonderful nature, great cobby body, round bright eyes (the photos don't do them justice), healthy, big and beautiful, we appreciate this new "addition" to our breeding lines, and wish to thank her breeder for agreeing to sell her to us.
And she will live with us - felines and humans in our basic little house.
With accommodation for our girls, who will be able to come in and out of our house into theirs through a covered, netted run, so they will be protected. The boys will of course, have their own quarters, but it's all 'in the process,' so to those who visit to see us or our kittens, please excuse the building materials, as it is still "Work In Progress."
Hekla Persians are on the Move! More news to be posted shortly, as time allows. 
Some ladies as our Lady in Red- won't go anywhere; as they would not settle very well, and are happy to stay here with no problems sharing their home with the others. However, some like our :Periwinkle, would benefit greatly from a one-cat-only home.

ABIGAIL UPDATE - WE WENT FOR A VISIT OVER QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND.
Here is Abigail - though this photo was taken a year ago, she has really changed (for the better, of course!). See her lovely colours and how they have deepened. We hope all is going well for this adorable girl and her people now in 2004.

Our Hekla - how it all began - our love of cats, 'famous cats' throughout our life, the Barn cat (our boy Freyr), Cats in Iceland. On a sad note, our Barn cat who we adopted out to Asgeir's brother, died in 2007. He lived to be 21 years old. Never a vet visit, never ill, just one day, he didn't wake up. Rest in peace, Freyr.
