Athena Rose can produce Redpoints, Sealpoints, Bluepoints, Seal Tortie Points and many other colours (depending on the sire), such as Red and Chocolate Solids. Here she is at the last Cat Show she attended (she doesn't like them.), where she was awarded her Championship.

Next is our beautiful Ch Hekla Sister Little Heart - our Red Girl Sissy (for short) is a pure Red with no barring or streaking on her lovely coat. Sissy was born in 1999 and has so far given birth to: Reds, Red Points, Creams and Cream Points.

Sissy is especially loving and is very, very maternal. So much so that she will try and take over other litters if their Mum is having a rest! She keeps her babies spotless and they grow very quickly and have lovely distinct eye and coat colour, just like their Mum!

Sharella Lady-in-Red is our other Red girl. In fact she is Sissy's Mum. Born in 1996, she is a beautiful cat but a little shy. She came to us when she was about 6 months old. She has always had lovely Reds and Redpoints, Cream and Creampoint kittens (as that is all that her genes can produce with our boys). 'Lady' is a very quiet cat who is also a good mother. Her kittens are always lovely and gentle.

Then there's Jamie (Lace Boutique). Date of Birth 1 April 1998. Jamie is a Chocolate Point girl whose main attributes are her beautiful big blue eyes(though you can't see them in this photo), pure Chocolate points with a very light cream coat, and her very sturdy and robust health. Jamie can have: Chocolate Points, Sealpoints, Seal/Tortie Points, Chocolate/Tortie Points, Blue/Cream Points, Lilac Points and Lilac/Cream Points.

Then there's Hekla Annabelle. She is another of our Tortoiseshell girls. Daughter of the late Hekla Victoriaplum Beautiful, Annabelle was born on 13 November 1997.


Annabelle is a large girl with exceptionally good eye and coat colour. She is a clever girl who imparts her cleverness and knowledge to her kittens. Sensitive to a fault, she had always kept her 'kitten-like' behaviour and even today retains her lovely happy nature. Her kittens are just like her: happy, playful and non-stop purrers. The kittens colours she can have are: Blue, Cream, Tortoiseshell, Red (both male and female), Black and some Colourpoint colours.

And our youngest 'queen' - Hekla Berengaria (our 'Beri'). She is the daughter of our Ch Hekla Jellybean Rose.

Beri is a first-time Mum this season and she, who is also a Tortoiseshell, gave birth on 18 December 2001 to a lovely Creampoint girl and a chubby and gorgeous Sealpoint boy. Beri was born on 6 November 2000.

These then are our girls at Hekla Persians. Good mothers all, with excellent temperament, strong and healthy, our girls live with us as part of our family. We are trusted by them to help with the 'birthing' of their kittens and are as a rule holding their paw during labour. Although most of our girls know exactly what to do when giving birth to their kittens, we are there should they need us in any way, just in case something may not go according to (feline) plan.

We are proud of our Ladies and give them all that we can both materially, as well as emotionally, in order for them to remain in optimum health and retain their happy natures, which in turn produces - Healthy and Happy Kittens. That's us, that's Hekla Persians - the Home of Healthy, Happy and Intelligent Cats and Kittens!

These then are our Stars (on the female side, that is!). We love all of our girls and to us it's more than just breeding and selling kittens, it's a total commitment by us to have the best we can offer our girls (and our 'Boys' too) - in housing, food, regular veterinary care, grooming and best of all.... lots and lots of love!
