We are proud to advise that some of our lovely pet Hekla kittens have been sold overseas through our web site.

It all started with the photos of our Blue boys on our web site. The e-mail came from Tahiti requesting more information.
We gladly provided this and were advised by this very nice French couple that they were coming to NZ in January 2002 to see our Blue boys. And yes, they came. They chose not one but three - a Seal Point Male, a Cream Point Female and a Blue male. A deposit was paid, with the rest to be deposited in our bank account when we had ascertained how much the total costs would be. Then we all waited for the youngest to be 4 months old in order comply with the NZCF rule of minimum age for flying overseas.
I was very busy organising the trip for our kittens. We had received the Import Permit from Tahiti by this time. The Microchipping (a requirement of the French Polynesian Government) was done first. Next we organised to have the babies weighed at the airline terminal in order to determine how much it would cost for the flight . A trip to my Vet in order to comply with all of the health requirements and obtain a letter for the MAF and the Tahitian Government. After this we had to have all approved by MAF no more that 48 hours before departure, to ensure that the kittens were healthy when they left NZ.
And yes, the MAF Vet says they are OK!

Babies are now almost ready to go .

A trip on the day to the Airline Cargo terminal with all of the paperwork, certificates and of course, kittens.

NZ Filtered fresh water is placed in their water supply, a quick cuddle and kiss for each baby, the paper work is firmly attached to the top of the case, the MAF Seal in placed in the lock and they are away!

Maybe we should have given it all to do to a Pet Transport service. But we wanted to ensure that the kittens were with us until the last possible minute, in order to ascertain that they were safely aboard the plane. It was more work for us but however, we wanted to be there for them and with them, until the last moment.

We certainly were very happy and yes, proud that we received the phone call from Tahiti that evening, when we were told that the kittens had arrived safely and were now at home with their new family. This was such a great feeling!

Years passed and then I received an e-mail from Brunei!

Where was Brunei?
We looked it up on the Internet and we found out that is is a peaceful country, ruled by The Sultan of Brunei, that it is 'pro'Western' and that it is a very oil-rich country.
So that was encouraging.
The e-mail was a request about a kitten on our Website. That was Hekla Shalimar

Well, yes he was available but I didn't want him to go all that way on his own, so I teed up with Blue Melody's Breeder and she had a Blue Bi-Colour (Melody's Brother!), that could travel with Shalimar if the people at Brunei wanted them both.
They did! So now to get things organised.

Well they couldn't go by ship, because it was too long a trip, so we looked for an airline to book with. Unfortunately, we could no longer do it ourselves, as we did with the Tahiti Kits. We had to get a pet transporter to do it for us. Apparently, it was said that many breeders were leaving the animals at the airport without ascertaining that the plane was on time and that the animals were put on the right plane etc.
But no, not us. We would wait as we did with the Tahiti Three until the plane took off. Sadl, the rules had changed and we had to abide by them. So we contracted a transporter to do all the work we had done with the Tahiti Kits and he processed all the paperwork, etc. Mary, our wonderful vet did the MAF Vet paperwork and when the boys were old enough,
